Mechanical Project Manager

Job Description

We are currently working with a large facilities management company to find them an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the delivery of a significant mechanical package within a prestigious financial institution based in Central London.

Working within a live, occupied, business-critical environment, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical building services works, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational continuity throughout the project lifecycle.

This would be a contract role starting ASAP and go on for 9-£1 - £2 months. The company has a huge pipeline of work, meaning if you're successful in this role, there's a strong chance you will be brought onto the next project as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the mechanical works from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, consultants, client representatives and internal project teams.
  • Ensuring all works are delivered safely within a live critical environment.
  • Developing and maintaining project programmes and resource plans.
  • Managing project budgets, variations and commercial performance.
  • Overseeing commissioning activities and ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health & safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with client stakeholders and facilities management teams.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks whilst maintaining programme milestones.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience delivering mechanical building services projects as a Mechanical Project Manager.
  • Previous experience working within live critical environments, ideally within a financial institution.
  • Strong technical understanding of HVAC, ventilation, chilled water, pipework and associated mechanical systems.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple workstreams.
  • Excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and CDM regulations.
